Year of Education: MAY ISSUE (MONTHLY NEWSLETTER)

Colleagues, Supporters, Friends,

During their summit earlier in the year, the African Union convened Heads of State to launch their Year of Education 2024 under the theme “Educate an African fit for the 21st Century: Building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality, and relevant learning in Africa”.

2024 holds particular significance to us, as this theme resonates deeply with our core values and objectives at the Ntha Foundation, as we continue our journey to enhance educational opportunities and build resilient systems that cater to the diverse needs of all Africans.

As we approach the halfway mark of 2024, it is an opportune moment to reflect on our achievements and reaffirm our commitment to this noble cause. Over the past six months, the Ntha Foundation has made significant strides in several key areas:

  1. Expanding Access to Education: We have successfully (re)launched our flaship programmes aimed at increasing educational access for underserved communities. We are presently working towards scholarship initiatives, school supply drives, and partnerships with local educational institutions to support students in need.
  2. Promoting Lifelong Learning: We have partnered with Salima Technical College and Zomba Arts Centre to expand our adult education and vocational training programmes through the Muzi Ecosystem Project, which are presently empowering countless individuals to pursue new skills and career opportunities, fostering a culture of continuous learning and adaptability.
  3. Enhancing Quality of Education: By providing training and resources to educators, we are contributing to improved teaching methodologies and learning environments, ensuring that students receive the quality education they deserve.
  4. Inclusive Learning Opportunities: We have prioritized inclusivity in all our programmes, striving to create educational environments that accommodate the diverse needs of all learners, including those with disabilities.

Looking ahead, we are excited to announce our intentions to globalise the efforts of the Ntha Foundation. We recently incorporated in Delaware, USA, and we have scaled our impact to over 20 African countries through our Digital Skills for Africa e-learning platform. By forging international partnerships and leveraging global resources, we aim to scale our impact and bring innovative educational solutions to even more communities across Africa. Our vision is to cultivate a network of resilient education systems that are capable of meeting the challenges of the 21st century, ultimately empowering every African to realize their full potential.

As we continue this journey, we invite you to join us in our mission. Whether through volunteering, donating, or spreading the word about our work, your involvement is crucial to our success. Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of countless individuals and contribute to the broader goal of building a brighter, more inclusive future for all Africans.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to the Ntha Foundation. We look forward to sharing more updates and successes with you in the coming months.

Best,

Nthanda Manduwi (Founder)
