An African Fit for the 21st Century: Q4 ISSUE (QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER)

Colleagues, Supporters, Friends,

As we approach the end of 2024, we take a moment to reflect on a year that has marked significant growth and transformation at the Ntha Foundation. Guided by the African Union’s theme, “Educate an African fit for the 21st Century,” this year has been pivotal in expanding our reach, promoting lifelong learning, enhancing education quality, and fostering inclusivity across the continent.

We are thrilled to invite you to read our Q4 newsletter, “The Year of Education: An African Fit for the 21st Century.” This edition highlights our milestones, leadership transitions, and exciting new initiatives that continue to shape the future of education and innovation in Africa.

A New Chapter: Introducing Kwathu Kollective Limited

One of the most exciting developments this year has been the official operational name change of the Ntha Foundation on the continent. We are proud to share that Ntha Foundation is now incorporated under the name Kwathu Kollective Limited—a change that reflects our unwavering dedication to empowering African creators, entrepreneurs, and innovators.

Since 2021, Kwathu Kollective has been a hub of innovation, creativity, and collaboration. This transformation is more than just a name change; it signifies our mission to localize efforts within Africa, while the Ntha Foundation continues its work globally through our U.S. incorporation.

Kwathu Kollective will remain distinctly African, focusing on partnerships and initiatives that drive digitization and entrepreneurship across the continent. Meanwhile, the Ntha Foundation’s role on the international stage will amplify African innovation through global partnerships.

Celebrating New Leadership

We are pleased to announce new leadership roles within the Kwathu Kollective.

  • Mr. Victor Caeser Gondwe has stepped into the role of Managing Director. Victor has been an integral part of our journey, and his leadership will guide the Kollective into a new era of growth and impact.
  • Ms. Rhoda Kamwaza has transitioned from Managing Director of the Ntha Foundation to Chair of the Board at Kwathu Kollective. Her strategic vision continues to shape the direction of the organization as we scale our initiatives.

Kwathu Konversations: Celebrating Malawian Creators

2024 also saw the expansion of Kwathu Konversations, an initiative in collaboration with the Copyright Fund (COSOMA), aimed at spotlighting creativity and innovation in Malawi. Through insightful discussions with industry leaders, we are fostering deeper conversations on intellectual property, economic growth, and the empowerment of Malawian creators.
