Tech Hubs in Malawi | MUZI ECOSYSTEM

In a remarkable step towards fostering innovation and creative development in Malawi, the Ntha Foundation team at Kwathu Innovation and Creative Centre welcomed distinguished guests from the German Development Cooperation (GDC), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and the Agriculture and Finance Consultants (AFC) GmbH. This dynamic collaboration falls under the ambit of the More Income and Employment in Rural Areas (MIERA II) Project.

The visit was a follow up to their launch which was held in Salima as was graced by our Ntha Foundation executive team, as the Muzi team are assessing the potential of various innovation hubs around Malawi. They wanted to learn more about the Kwathu Innovation and Creative Centre, and the projects and initiatives at the hub, as well as the capacity development needs of the organisation.

The Kwathu Innovative and Creative Centre team showcased their dedication to propelling innovation in Malawi, especially in the tourism sector. This crucial gathering of minds revolved around a pivotal presentation – The Kwathu Upgrade Project. 

At the heart of the Kwathu Upgrade Project is the commitment to empower participants in Malawi and beyond.  The training modules encompass three distinct areas: bants2business, digi-savvy training, and the Kwathu upgrade training.

Digi-Savvy Training: In the age of digitalization, digital literacy is not just an advantage; it’s a necessity. The Kwathu Centre recognizes this urgency and provides participants with the expertise to navigate the digital landscape confidently. From basic digital skills to harnessing social media for brand exposure, the digi-savvy training sets the stage for participants to reach wider audiences and maximize their impact.

The Kwathu Upgrade Project focuses on harnessing creative potential, this training enables participants to fine-tune their creative and innovative skills. 

Lastly, the Kwathu team took their esteemed guests on an immersive tour of their vibrant office space.
