$5,000 AI & Digital Skills Scholarships: APPLICATIONS OPEN

Ntha Foundation Launches 2027 AI & Digital Skills Scholarship

The Scholarship initiative will support African learners with awards valued at $5,000 each, expanding access to artificial intelligence and digital skills education.

The Ntha Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the 2027 AI & Digital Skills Scholarship, providing selected applicants with scholarships valued at $5,000 per learner.

Delivered through Digital Skills for Africa (DSA), the initiative will support access to online learning opportunities in artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, digital business, and professional development.

Applications open on 1 November 2026 and close on 1 December 2026, with successful applicants expected to begin learning in January 2027.

The initiative builds on Ntha Foundation’s longstanding commitment to expanding educational opportunities, strengthening digital competencies, and supporting African youth to participate meaningfully in the digital economy.

Investing in Africa’s Digital Future

Africa’s digital transformation presents significant opportunities for entrepreneurship, innovation, employment, and economic development.

However, technological advancement alone does not guarantee inclusive participation.

For individuals to benefit from emerging opportunities, they need access to relevant education, practical training, and the skills required to navigate an increasingly digital world.

The Ntha Foundation has worked to address these challenges through digital skills development, entrepreneurship support, and investments in learning infrastructure.

Through its programmes and partnerships, the Foundation has supported the establishment of technology hubs, digital training initiatives, and opportunities for young people to develop skills relevant to the changing economy.

The 2027 AI & Digital Skills Scholarship extends this work by expanding access to flexible, online learning opportunities.

Each selected recipient will receive a scholarship valued at $5,000, supporting their continued educational and professional development.

Rather than providing direct cash grants, the scholarship supports access to eligible learning opportunities through Digital Skills for Africa.

The investment is intended to enable recipients to develop practical skills that can support their continued education, professional advancement, and entrepreneurial ambitions.

Preparing Learners for an AI-Enabled Economy

Artificial intelligence is reshaping how organisations operate, how businesses make decisions, and how individuals engage with technology.

These changes extend beyond traditionally technical professions.

Entrepreneurs, educators, researchers, creatives, and professionals across industries are increasingly encountering AI-enabled tools and digital workflows.

The Ntha Foundation recognises the importance of ensuring that African learners have opportunities to develop the competencies needed to navigate and contribute to these changes.

Through Digital Skills for Africa, scholarship recipients will access eligible courses from a catalogue of more than 100 learning opportunities.

Areas of study include:

  • Artificial intelligence and emerging technologies
  • Data analytics and digital productivity
  • Automation and digital transformation
  • Cybersecurity and digital literacy
  • Digital marketing and entrepreneurship
  • Business and professional development

The self-paced online learning model provides flexibility for learners balancing training with education, employment, entrepreneurship, and other responsibilities.
