Muzi Ecosystem Initiative | KWATHU UPGRADE – MY MALAWI TRAVEL EDITION

We’re excited to share some fantastic news from our hub, Kwathu Innovation and Creative Centre, a part of the Ntha Foundation. We’ve been selected to be one of the supporting hubs for the Muzi Ecosystem initiative, as part of the “More Income and Employment in Rural Areas- MIERA II” project by GIZ in Malawi. This significant step is aligned with our commitment to driving positive change and fostering innovation.

Our project has a special focus on supporting women-led and youth-led Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and individuals from marginalized communities engaged in various tourism-related trades. We believe that these are the unsung heroes of the local tourism sector, and their success is pivotal for the overall growth of the industry. To achieve this we will employ our “Kwathu Upgrade: Tourism Edition,” to revamp and strengthen the tourism sector in Salima and Zomba.

Tourism isn’t just about attracting visitors; it’s about creating a sustainable source of income and employment opportunities within the local communities. By strengthening the tourism sector in Salima and Zomba, we’re contributing to economic growth, empowering the local workforce, and enhancing the overall livelihoods of the residents.
