In a landmark collaboration aimed at fostering digital inclusion and economic empowerment, the Ntha Foundation has teamed up with Salima Technical College to localize and scale the Digital Skills for Africa platform. This partnership marks a significant step towards bridging the digital divide and equipping communities in Malawi with the essential skills needed to thrive in the digital age.
Empowering Communities: Ntha Foundation and Salima Technical College Join Forces to Localize and Scale Digital Skills for Africa Platform
The Digital Skills for Africa platform, an initiative supported by the Ntha Foundation, is designed to provide accessible and relevant digital training to individuals across Africa. By partnering with Salima Technical College, renowned for its expertise in technical education and vocational training, the Ntha Foundation aims to tailor the platform’s content to the specific needs and contexts of communities in Salima and beyond.
Through this collaboration, the Ntha Foundation and Salima Technical College will work together to:
- Curriculum Customization: Leveraging their combined expertise, the partners will adapt the Digital Skills for Africa curriculum to align with the local context and address the unique challenges and opportunities faced by communities in Salima. This will ensure that the training programs are relevant, practical, and impactful.
- Training Delivery: Salima Technical College will play a pivotal role in delivering training sessions and workshops to local participants. Drawing on their experienced faculty and state-of-the-art facilities, the college will provide hands-on training in essential digital skills such as digital literacy, online safety, coding, and digital marketing.
- Community Outreach: The partnership will focus on reaching underserved and marginalized communities in Salima and surrounding areas. Through targeted outreach efforts and community engagement initiatives, the partners aim to ensure that no one is left behind in the digital transformation journey.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: To measure the effectiveness of the training programs and track the progress of participants, the partners will implement robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms. Regular assessments and feedback sessions will enable continuous improvement and refinement of the training initiatives.
- Scalability and Sustainability: By localizing the Digital Skills for Africa platform, the partners envision creating a scalable and sustainable model that can be replicated in other regions across Malawi and beyond. This will empower individuals and communities to harness the power of digital technology to drive social and economic development.
As we embark on this transformative journey, the Ntha Foundation and Salima Technical College are committed to empowering individuals with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in the digital economy. Together, we will build a future where everyone has equal access to opportunities and the ability to unlock their full potential.
Our first initiative together will be operationalising the “My Malawi Travel | Kwathu Upgrade Edition”, under the “Muzi Ecosystem Initiative”. The project is funded by the GIZ, and it has a special focus on supporting women-led and youth-led Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and individuals from marginalized communities engaged in various tourism-related trades.
Stay tuned for updates on our progress as we work towards realizing our vision of a digitally inclusive and empowered society in Salima and beyond.
