Congratulations, Ms. Mweso (Board Chair): Master of Development Policy

We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our board chair, Ms. Bernadette Mweso, on her graduation from the Korean Development Institute, School of Public Policy and Management (KDIS), with a Master of Development Policy, specializing in Sustainable Development.

Bernadette’s journey with the Ntha Foundation is a testament to her dedication and vision. Not only are we youth-led and youth-serving, but we also take immense pride in being woman-led. At the helm of our board sits Ms. Bernadette Mweso, who has been an integral part of our foundation since its inception.

Reflecting on her time with the Foundation, Bernadette shares:

“I have been working with the Foundation since before the inception year in 2018, while it was still an idea. I remember sitting down with Nthanda, the founder, as she shared the dream, and we would stay up late brainstorming about how she could implement and perfect her idea. So as of now, I’d say for the entire five years.”

Bernadette is a development specialist with nine years of experience in grants management, monitoring and evaluation, women’s socio-economic empowerment, community development, and capacity strengthening. She has worked with both local and international NGOs to implement sustainable development interventions in Malawi and Ghana. Bernadette holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Humanities) from the University of Malawi and a certificate in Project Management for Global Health.

Speaking on her experience growing with the Ntha Foundation, Bernadette describes it as “sensational”:

“2018 was the early years of my career. Back then, I heard the ideas, I saw the dream, but I never relished the magnitude of that dream. Watching it unfold leaves me astonished every time. The Foundation has achieved way beyond what we imagined, and as we grow and learn, we strive to keep adapting and innovating to the modern ways of living and learning while ensuring we do not lose our values. Seeing the impact attained thus far through the various programs, I honestly am very proud of the team behind all of it.”

Ms. Mweso’s recent achievement of being selected on a full scholarship to pursue her master’s at KDIS is a significant milestone. Although she has for the past 2 years been based in South Korea, her commitment and high hopes for the Ntha Foundation remain unwavering.

Join us in celebrating Ms. Bernadette Mweso’s remarkable achievements and her continued dedication to the growth and success of the Ntha Foundation. Congratulations, Bernadette!
