We are thrilled to share that our Founder and Executive Director, Nthanda Manduwi, has been named the Most Inspiring Female Corporate Leader in Malawi at the 2025 Consumers Choice Awards.
At just 29 years old, Nthanda becomes the second woman to ever receive this national recognition, following Professor Address Malata, Vice Chancellor of the Malawi University of Science and Technology. This honor not only recognizes Nthanda’s growing leadership in Malawi’s private and development sectors—it affirms the power of a vision rooted in community, innovation, and purpose.
“I have shared my journey online since 2012,” Nthanda reflected. “My triumphs, my failures, and everything in between. What started as a personal blog—byntha.com—gave birth to the Ntha Foundation, which gave birth to the Kwathu Kollective, which is now birthing a generation of innovators across the continent.”
A Journey of Purpose
From her early days as one of Malawi’s first lifestyle bloggers, to her role at the United Nations in New York, and now as a rising business leader interning at Microsoft Xbox in Seattle—Nthanda’s story is one of clarity and conviction. She built the Ntha Foundation to support African youth in accessing digital skills, entrepreneurial training, and career pathways—and she has done so through authentic storytelling, global partnerships, and a grounded belief in the power of people.
Over the years, the Foundation has launched and incubated flagship programs such as:
- The M’mawa Apprenticeship Programme, now adopted by public and private universities across Malawi
- The Nyenyezi Entrepreneurship Fellowship, supporting youth-led innovation across sectors
- Digital Skills for Africa (DSA), embedding digital literacy in primary, secondary, and tertiary education
- And the Kwathu Kollective, a network of innovation hubs growing across the continent.
A Collective Win
As Nthanda said in her acceptance message:
“This award is OURS. Everything we’ve built—every blog post, every project, every pitch—has only been possible because of the community that has walked with me. This moment belongs to all of us.”
We at Ntha Foundation celebrate this milestone not as a finish line, but as a marker along a much bigger journey. One that continues to center youth empowerment, African innovation, and inclusive development.
Onward and Upward
We extend our deepest congratulations to Nthanda—and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who voted, supported, and believed. This award reminds us why we do what we do. And it strengthens our resolve to do even more.
Zikomo kwambiri. Yewo chomene. Sikomo kwejinji.
Stay tuned for more updates on our programs, partnerships, and upcoming opportunities. The work continues—and the future is bright.
