We are proud to share that the Ntha Foundation—through our operating brand, Kwathu Kollective—has been nominated for the upcoming 2025 ICTAM Corporate Awards. The recognition comes in two categories that speak directly to our mission and identity:
1. ICT Education & Skills Development
2. Women-Led ICT Firm
This is more than a nomination. It is an acknowledgment of the work we have poured into building a future-ready Malawi—where creativity, technology, and skills development come together to create opportunity.
Founded in Malawi in 2018 Ntha Foundation has evolved from a grassroots digital education effort into an internationally registered nonprofit organization. In 2024, we became a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, allowing us to expand our global partnerships and deepen our roots across Africa. As part of this restructuring, our flagship operating initiative in Malawi was rebranded as Kwathu Kollective—a locally rooted, continentally focused ecosystem builder.
The Kwathu Kollective is now headquartered at Excel Primary School in Mangochi, a space originally built by our late mother, Malawi’s first female marine captain. It has since become a site for reimagining what early education and tech incubation can look like side-by-side. Through our digital skills programs, coworking and community spaces, and storytelling initiatives, Kwathu Kollective continues the Foundation’s vision to empower creators and innovators across the continent.
The nomination comes ahead of the 2025 ICT Expo, hosted by the ICT Association of Malawi (ICTAM), taking place at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe on June 5–6, 2025.
Reflecting on the recognition, our Founder and Executive Director, Nthanda Manduwi, currently on her MBA internship with Microsoft in Redmond, Washington, shared:
“It is deeply meaningful to see our work recognized at home, even as we build bridges globally. These nominations are not just about awards—they are proof of concept. That women-led innovation matters. That investing in skills works. That Malawi is ready for the future.”
We are grateful to ICTAM for this recognition, and to our team, partners, and extended community who have continued to believe in and build with us.
Together, we are building the future from where we are—with what we have. And this is only the beginning.
